Axkid One Child Car Seat

Axkid ONE sets a new standard of car seat safety. It is the only rear-facing ISOfix seat in the world that is i-Size approved up to 125 cm/23 kg, meaning your child can travel rear-facing for up to 2 years longer than existing ISOfix seats on the market.

Axkid ONE has the best legroom on the market. The Axkid ONE is mounted on rails (pat. pending) allowing the seat to be adjusted back and forth with just one hand up to 30 cm.

Step 1: Unfold the support leg from its upright position until a click can be heard and the support leg position indicator turns green (remove the yellow plastic on the underside of the support leg before doing this and discard safely).

Step 2: In order to release the front brace for your first installation you need to first slide the seat away from the front brace by releasing the legroom adjustment button at the back of the seat and sliding the seat back along the rail (image of legroom adjustment button below).

Release the front brace release button by sliding it to the right and pull the front brace back towards the Axkid One seat. Keep holding the front brace with one hard and grab the back carry handle with the other hand and lift the Axkid One into the car with the front brace first.

Step 3: Push the two isofix connectors (labelled with a 3 sticker) into the vehicle isofix connection points until you hear two clicks and both isofix locking indicators turn green.

Step 4: Let go of the front brace and it will start tensioning itself against the vehicle seat. When it stops, turn the front brace knob (grey) clockwise and keep turning until you hear an obvious clunk sound and the front brace knob cannot be tightened anymore (there will be a series of clicks depending on how many times you need to turn the knob until you hear the obvious clunk sound).

Step 5: Push the grey support leg button on the side of the support leg in and pull down the support leg until it is contact with the vehicle floor. Let go of the grey support leg button and lift the car seat upwards to further extend the support leg until you hear a click. The support leg should now be locked and firmly pressed against the vehicle floor. The Axkid One is equipped with a beeping indicator that will keep beeping until the support leg is firmly pressed against the vehicle floor, indicating a correct installation. To activate this remove the plastic battery cover on the underside of the support leg as pictured above.

Step 6: Remove the plastic cover on the ASIP connector on the side of the Axkid One seat that is closest to the vehicle door. (Place the plastic cover on the ASIP connector on the opposite side for safe keeping). Push the ASIP pad into the slots on the ASIP connector and slide downwards, the ASIP pad will click into place.

Before restraining your child in the Axkid One or Axkid One+ please ensure you are using the correct insert, if your child is below 100cm.

Only the Axkid One+ has the infant insert for use until 60cm. The eye level indicators are not for use with the infant insert, when using the Axkid One+ with the infant insert ensure that the headrest is in the lowest position.

The included insert with the Axkid One is for use from 60cm to 100cm (approx to 3 years).

Adjust the headrest with the headrest adjustment at the back of the seat until the eye level indicators are in line with your child's eyes.

Check that the shoulder straps are going through the seat straight from your child's shoulders or maximum 1cm above. You might need to adjust the headrest again to achieve this, even if it makes the eye level indicators get out of line of your child's eyes.

After the Axkid One has been installed you can easily adjust the recline and legroom position for your child. This can be done while your child is restrained in the car seat also.

The recline is adjusted by turning the recline knob and the legroom is adjusted by releasing the legroom adjustment button on the back handle (pictured above).

To ensure a good fit in all cars and give the best protection for your child, Axkid strongly recommends that you use the guided positions marked on the side of the seat. The adjustments for both recline and legroom are based on your child's height and as your child grows it is important to adjust the recline to a more upright position to give the best possible protection for your child's neck in the case of an accident.

There are 3 set of measurements: 0 - 60 cm, 60 - 100 cm and 100 - 125 cm and it is important that you make sure that both yellow arrows point at the correct zones for both height and legroom:
