The ADAC  / OAMTC Autumn 2023 results are in!

Unfortunately a popular car seat in Ireland, the Maxi-Cosi Pebble 360 Pro has failed the pollutant test. The pollutant that was found is naphthalene, which is suspected of having a carcinogenic effect. ADAC do not recommend purchasing this seat or the Maxi-Cosi FamilyFix 360 Pro isofix base.

Great to see two of the new Britax HBB included. The Britax Adventure Plus scored, 2.2 (Good) for safety and the Discovery Plus 2 scored 2.1 (Good).

Credit where it is due also to Cosatto. Their Cosatto Acorn i-Size infant carrier scored 1.4 (Very Good) for safety and this seat in conjunction with the Cosatto Acorn i-Size base scored 1.6 for safety (Good).

Joie i-Spin 360 R scored 1.5 (Very Good) and as always BeSafe scored really well with a 1.3 (Very Good) for their BeSafe iZi Go Modular X2 i-Size both for the infant carrier itself and when it is used on the BeSafe iZi Modular i-Size base, which is great as generally the score is not as good when the infant carrier is tested with the base.

The lower the score for ADAC / OAMTC the better and the primary score we look at relates to the safety of the seat as opposed to other features and this is under the security column.
